It’s time for Wisconsin to come together and work as one, to ensure the state we love – and all of its traditions – can be passed to future generations.
While work to conserve our state’s rich natural resources and create clean energy solutions has been long-championed by many, we’ve reached an inflection point. Here’s how you can get involved.
This year, the Public Service Commission will consider proposals submitted by WEC Energy Group, the parent company of We Energies, to build $2 billion worth of new gas infrastructure in southeastern Wisconsin. If approved, these outdated plans would lock us into decades of fossil fuel use and threaten our health, environment, and wallets.
The cost of building these new facilities will be passed on to ratepayers, who will be forced to shoulder the financial burden well beyond the expected lifespan of these plants. This burden will be compounded by the negative health impact that Wisconsinites will experience by introducing more natural gas to the state – the second-worst fossil fuel after coal.
Broad opportunities of new federal funding, combined with active and engaged state and local leaders, mean Wisconsin is poised to embark on a new era for its people, its environment, and its economy.
The IRA will help Wisconsinites achieve a clean energy future. Whether you’re a Wisconsin business, homeowner, nonprofit, government, or farmer, learn more about building a brighter future for our state below.
